Using drawing as a learning tool is proven to,
- aid memory,
- improve dexterity,
- encourage learning through ‘doing’ and
- generate a positive mental attitude
Added to this drawing is a complementary skill, i.e. a skill that can be used across disciplines, to visually represent a child’s thinking and understanding of content.
Workshop outline:
The aim of this workshop is to empower parents to utilise drawing as an effective learning tool. Participants will gain practical skills and artistic confidence (no matter their current drawing ability J) while learning about the underlying thinking skills involved in the drawing process (Hetland et al. 2013).
